Chariots for Children Receives A 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Houston area non-profits that are devoted to helping children are often hindered by budget restraints, creating an endless need for assistance with transportation. One of Houston Children's Charity's long-standing and most successful programs, "Chariots for Children", had done it again! On December 13, 2011, generous supporters of the charity, Melissa and Brad Juneau donated a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid to Houston Children's Charity. The Juneau's donation of this exceptional car gives "Chariots for Children" the opportunity to give another car to an organization that could use it in helping the youth of Houston. HCC Executive Director, Laura Ward turned over the keys, to this beautiful car, to Joni Robertson, Senior Development Specialists of Devereux Texas Treatment Network of League City, Texas. Ms. Robertson said, "THANK YOU Melissa and Brad Juneau for this amazing donation!"

2011 Chairman's Award
Each year the HCC Board of Directors presents this award to a well deserving board member that has gone above and beyond. Without a doubt, Melissa Juneau and her support for the "HCC Closet", along with all other HCC events, have exceeded this criterion. Melissa is a blessing to Houston Children's Charity and the special children we serve.

Takin' it to the Hoop
Houston Children's Charity treated 100 of Houston's special children to a day of fun and basketball on Saturday, February 6th. The children watched as the Rice Owls tried to hold their own against the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers. The Blazers ended the exciting game by defeating the Owls 76-65.
We owe a huge thank you to Rice University, Jones College Associates of Rice, St. Martin's Episcopal Church, and Leslie Hinshaw for raising the money to purchase the basketball tickets, and coordinating the fun for HCC's kids. |
